Acceptable Use Policy

This policy describes what Project Factory will and will not build and host. It applies to every project.
What we accept
Public marketing and lead-generation sites; portfolios; directories; portals, dashboards, and internal tools; single-business SaaS and customer portals; stores, bookings, and subscriptions where you are the merchant; content sites; and communities with defined moderation controls.
What needs a specialist review
These are not refused outright, but they cannot go through the automated path:
- Marketplaces that collect money and distribute it to multiple sellers
- Anything requiring release to the Apple or Google app stores
- Services requiring a professional licence or government authorisation
What we will not build
- Gambling, sweepstakes, or contests of chance
- Crypto custody or exchange, securities, lending, insurance, regulated financial
advice, or money transmission
- Medical diagnosis or treatment, or the handling of protected health information
- Adult sexual content, weapons, controlled substances, or other illegal goods
- Malware, intrusion tooling, unauthorised scraping, or credential collection
- Impersonation of a person or organisation, or a business that misleads users
about what it does
- Services directed to children under 13, or that knowingly collect information
from them
Conduct
You must not use Project Factory to send unsolicited bulk email, to attack or probe systems you do not own, to infringe copyright or trademarks, to publish content that harasses or endangers a person, or to evade any of the above by mischaracterising your project.
Marketing email
If your project sends marketing email you must use confirmed opt-in, identify yourself truthfully in headers and subject lines, include a physical postal address, include a working unsubscribe link in every message, and honour unsubscribes promptly. Our generated modules enforce these; disabling them is a violation of this policy.
Hostnames
Project addresses on apps.hanovertech.net must not imply an affiliation you do not have, impersonate another organisation, or take a shape commonly used for credential phishing. We reserve platform names and may reclaim a hostname obtained in breach of this policy.
Enforcement
We investigate reports at abuse@hanovertech.net. Depending on severity we may ask you to fix the problem, remove specific content, suspend the project, or terminate the agreement. Where the risk is immediate — active phishing, malware distribution, a credible threat to a person — we suspend first and explain immediately after.
